In 2024, Lustrarte celebrated its 50th anniversary. The story began in 1974, when José Leonel de Jesus Faria, after working his way from factory worker to industrial manager in the glass and mold-making industries, fulfilled his ambition of starting his own business.
Founded in Marinha Grande, Portugal, Lustrarte grew from a decorative lighting manufacturer into an international brand under his leadership.
Ana Faria was just five years old when Lustrarte was founded. She practically grew up in the factory, surrounded by machinery and workbenches, fascinated by watching her father's drawings become finished lighting fixtures.
In 1998, following her father's sudden passing, Ana and Luís Faria took on a responsibility that went beyond keeping the business running. They were now entrusted with preserving his legacy and the knowledge built up over decades.
Since 2010, Lustrarte has broadened its work beyond its own collections to include bespoke lighting and private label partnerships with other brands. This expansion has brought new opportunities to work with different materials, styles, and types of projects.
